Talavera Technologies

GDPR, Privacy & Security

As we state in our Privacy Policy, we take security very seriously and we make sure that your personal information is kept secure and away from people who should not have it. "GDPR" (General Data Protection Regulation) was implemented on May 25, 2018 by the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) who is responsible for upholding information rights. It is an intense force of how businesses handle its customer's personal information. So, we have to check and double check where and how we handle your personal information. On this webpage, we will describe to you how Talavera Technologies handles your personal & private information. We will be doing this in a very plain and easy to read way so that you can fully understand the way we handle your personal & private information.

What information do we keep on file for our customers?

First Name,
Middle Name (if applicable),
Last Name,
Phone Number (business, home, cell),
Email Address,
Username,
Password,
Credit Card (if applicable) or
Bank Account information (if applicable)

The file that we hold this information on is password protected and is hosted on a secure, encrypted cloud server that is securely held off of our internal network. We do not hold anyone's personal information in an openly accessible format. Those files are only held on those secure, encrypted cloud servers.

What do we do with your information?

We only use your information to contact you or to allow you to login and access your emails. If you've given us your credit card information, we use QuickBooks for our payments. All of your credit card information is encrypted and held on the secure servers of Intuit, Inc.. We do not hold any bank account information or credit card information on any openly accessible format. This type of personal information is password protected, encrypted and secured on Intuit, Inc. (QuickBooks) servers.

We do not data-mine your emails to gather statistics on any of our customer's comings and goings on our servers. We take privacy very seriously. If we don't want anyone to view our personal comings and goings, we wouldn't want to do that to any of our customers! Bigger companies who offer "free" email services bring in revenue by data-mining your emails and information and selling that to static-gathering companies. That's how they can offer their services for "free" to people. We charge a fee for our services to keep our servers secure, reliable and functional... and to keep your information, your information and no one elses.

We do monitor bandwidth and email traffic, but only to the extent of keeping our servers safe from being compromised. We keep a close eye each day on how many emails are being sent out of our servers, in case of an email account being compromised and sending out thousands of spam/junk emails. When that happens, our servers could get blacklisted. This causes emails to not be delivered to its intended recipients due to a poor internet reputation on various blacklist databases. So, we have to do some system monitoring, but it is not done in any way that will expose any of our customer's personal or private information.

The only two ways that we might see our customer's personal information is when we are given specific permission to search up emails that are rejected due to being flagged as spam and we have to view our server's email logs. In that case we do see IP addresses and email addresses of incoming emails intended for our customers. The other way is when a customer gives us permission to log into their email account to either remove a potentionally harmful email that was sent to them, if they request us to fix a certain setting in their email account or if they request us to delete emails between certain dates because they are unable to do so from their device for whatever reason.

Who do we share your information with?

Absolutely no one. For your peace of mind, we do not and have never shared ANY of your information with any third party companies. We have never given away or sold any of our customers personal information, both when we were "WhiteHorse Communications" and now that we're Talavera Technologies. We have always believed that privacy comes first. We don't require much information for our services, but the little information that we do keep on hand, we keep secure and out of the hands of others.

Of course we do rely heavily and put our trust in Intuit, Inc. to hold your information securely on its servers. If there is ever a security breach in their systems, it's their responsiblilty to alert us and in turn, it's our responsibilty to alert you of any possibility of a breach and what needs to be done. We can proudly say in all the years we've used Intuit's services, we've never had an alert to any breach of their systems.

There is one major exception to sharing your information with a third-party entity, as also stated in our Privacy Policy. If we are ordered by a court (e.g. - subpoenas, indictments or other legal orders) to disclose any of our customer's information, we will, by U.S. law, release to them as much information as we are requested to disclose. We are 100% an American company and will fully comply with any branch of our American law enforcement or the "ICO" (Information Commissioner's Office) if they legally request information on one or all of our customers.

Can you request what information we have on you?

Yes! Under the GDPR Compliance rules, you have the right to request what information any company has on you. So if at any time you want to know what information we have in our systems for you, just request it from us and we'll get it to you as soon as we gather it all together. If you request us to send you this information in an email, we will send the file in a password protected and encrpyted format. We then ask that you call us for the password and instructions on how to open the file. This will be the most secure way to provide you with the collected information you requested.

We also do require that the email address that you want us to send your collected information to is an email domain that we host (basinlink.com, caprok.net, eaze.net, hiline.net, powr.net, texasonline.net, usaonline.net, whc.net or one of our business hosted domains). If you are requesting us to send your collected information to an "off-network" email address (gmail.com, yahoo.com, hotmail.com, etc.), we will require a written form of request sent to support@whc.net or using our "Contact Us" form via our website, requesting us to send your information to one specific "off-network" email address. We then require you to call in to confirm your request within one hour of us receiving your email. We will ask you to prove your identity by providing us with your current physical address, your email address, your username and your password. This may seem like a lot to do, but again, we take privacy very seriously and we do not want your personal & private information falling into the wrong hands.

If you do not like all the information that we keep on file for you (for whatever personal reasons you have for your privacy), you also have the right to tell us to remove it from our systems. We do require the minimum amount of information (as described above in the first section) to keep an account active. If you request for the removal of all your information, we will have to close your account. If we close your account, we will delete all of your information from our systems, exept certain information that is needed for tax history purposes.
